Overview & Research
Synopsis

Heather B CattellWhat makes Danger Between the Lines stand out from other books of its genre is its scientific underpinnings. It is based on a carefully-controlled study conducted at Hawaii State Hospital. In this study estimates of dangerousness made by research psychologists, who had access to clinical information and hospital and police records, correlated at an amazing 0.001 level of statistical significance.

These results clearly indicate that peoples potential for aggressive and violent behavior can be predicted from their handwriting characteristics with a high degree of certainty.

In this study estimates of dangerousness made by research psychologists who had access to clinical information and hospital and police records correlated at an amazingly 0.001 level of statistical significance with those made by graphologists who made their estimates entirely on handwriting samples.

Danger Between the Lines is outstanding for its ability to instruct even the neophyte and its fascinating insights into the minds and motives of many different individuals, both famous and infamous. In all this book makes for very interesting reading and should have wide appeal. I recommend it to anyone interested in psychology or wanting to learn an unobtrusive method for uncovering inclinations for violence.<

Profiling of Violent Behavior

The DBTL Manual is a diagnostic tool that can be readily applied to detect and identify high-risk behavior in employees, students, patients, prisoners and criminal suspects.

The techniques taught are user-friendly to all readers, regardless of graphology experience. This manual was geared for use in Conflict Resolution, Workplace Violence, Employment Pre-Screening, Investigation, Safe Dating, Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Domestic Spousal Abuses.

The DBTL Manual offers an assessment tool (compendium of data and directions). Providing visual/pictorial samples, and psychological descriptions of both mentally healthy and danger signals. It further describes character traits which tend to facilitate or inhibit dangerous behavior.

The manual includes sections on Primary Signs of Dangerousness (D), Facilitators to Dangerousness (F), and Inhibitors to Dangerousness (I). It is generously illustrated with handwritings and biographical sketches.

For use in Conflict Resolution, Workplace Violence, Employment Pre- screening, Investigation, Law Enforcement, Safe-Dating, Domestic Spousal Abuse.

Examples of profiles of proven or potential murderers, serial killers and mass murderers include: Ramsey Ransom Note, Oklahoma Bomber, OJ Simpson, Unabomber, Andrew Cunanan.

The result of a ten-year research project at Hawaii State Hospital, it is a comprehensive study of potential dangerousness. The danger signals are clearly revealed and documented using handwritings of people throughout history.

Client Comments Include: Courts, Corrections and Parole Board officials, Mental Health authorities, Prosecuting Attorneys, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Police Departments and Law Enforcers, Forensic Experts, Attorneys, Experimental Psychologists, Security professionals, Education professionals, Research & Evaluation Specialists.

Facilitating Assessment of Dangerousness Using Handwriting Characteristics; e.g., "Danger Between The Lines," by Kim Iannetta with James F. Craine Ph.D. & Dennis G. McLaughlin, Ph.D. is the result of a ten-year research project at the Hawaii State Hospital. This book is a comprehensive manual to help professionals determine whether dangerousness exists in an individual and, if so, to what degree and whether there are counterbalancing factors. The study used the Pearson Correlation Coefficients to determine the degree of relationship between estimates based on the analysis of writing characteristics and clinical estimates of dangerousness. The reliability of the psychologists' ratings for dangerousness, (0.92) and the reliability of the handwriting analysis rating, (0.83) provides evidence that the graphological technique demonstrated significant validity when used to predict potential dangerousness.
